We are putting together our hygiene package drive. This is what we are asking our community for.
“We are in the process of putting together about 60-75 Personal Hygiene packages for some of our underserved and homeless people in the Grand Bay area.
For many see products are taken for granted, however for those without means these products can dramatically improve their self image and help them get back into the workforce.
We are partnering with John Baxter, First United Methodist Church Grand Bay, and their youth group SWAG . They currently serve the underserved and have been providing hot food and social services about once a month.
We want to add to their outreach with these packages. Dr. Gregory L. Kennedy and Grand Bay Dental have provided new toothbrushes for us.
We are looking for help acquiring the products to fill these packages.
Some items we could use,
Dentine type chewing gum
Small sealed packages of aspirin
Travel kit bags
Depends or other Adult undergarment or pads.
New packaged undergarments, and socks.
New Shoe Laces
New combs and hair brushes
We would also like to add some small treats to these bags, individually wrapped snack bars, cookies, crackers, or candies.
Nothing is to little, one bar of soap, or one disposable razor will help. If you do not have anything in your cupboards we would kindly ask you to pick up a little something extra the next time you go shopping.
Winter gloves, hats, coats are always welcome.
Anyone wishing to help can bring donations to the Grand Bay Community Center, a perfect time to bring your donations would be at 9am Saturday January 25 during our community breakfast. or call Kimon Brown at 251-865-4010.
Thanks in advance.
